This month marked our first Robotic Automation Advisory Forum (RAAF), a worldwide gathering of leaders from Blue Prism’s user community. More than 50 movers and shakers in the enterprise tech world gathered in Sydney, including Blue Prism customers and partners from Accenture, Capgemini, Deloitte, DXC, Ernst & Young, McKinsey & Co., Quanton and Reveal Group, to share their experiences and best practices for Robotic Process Automation (RPA) deployments. All members of the Blue Prism partner ecosystem – technology, training and implementation partners included – are guaranteed our expert resources and support, and RAAF is just one way we provide them with these things.
Pat Geary, Blue Prism CMO, opened the day’s events by tracing the history of our user events – from the first meeting of the Operational Agility Forum (OAF) in 2009, to the most recent Robotic Automation Advisory Council (RAAC) gatherings, hosted in November 2016 in New York and London. He explained how the RAAF was born out of the union of these two earlier groups, before introducing a series of discussions and workshops centered on the management of effective RPA projects.
The highlight of the day was hearing from Glenn Seaye, managing director and regional CIO for Computershare, a global leader in business technology and one of Australia’s largest corporations. As a company that has application development and automation built into its DNA, Glenn explained, Computershare saw the value that an enterprise-grade RPA platform could bring to its organization. He outlined the opportunities and results of operational teams working together with IT to quickly build and deploy automation solutions. In collaboration with Reveal Group and Blue Prism, Computershare has developed a comprehensive Robotic Operating Model that sets the “standard” for delivering processes at scale in global organizations.
Once the day’s meetings wrapped up, everyone officially toasted Blue Prism’s Australia-New Zealand launch with cocktails and dinner overlooking the Sydney Harbor Bridge and Opera House. Australian rugby legend Phil Kearns was also in attendance, and delivered an impactful speech that drew on his experiences in sport and in business. Speaking on the importance of working together to build a foundation of success, much of what Kearns had to say reflects precisely what the true aim of RAAF is; to share best practices, learn from one another and drive the most advanced and transformative use cases of enterprise RPA.
As the pioneering developer of the world’s most successful digital workforce, hosting user events such as this one are a joy and responsibility.
